PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Director General Raul Bacalzo, with Bacolod Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia, led the inauguration of the Public Safety Savings and Loan Association, Inc’s (PSSLAI) 16th field office in the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) compound Wednesday.

Bacalzo, who is also the chairman of PSSLAI, said that the event is his first inauguration of a PSSLAI branch in his term as PNP chief.

The inauguration of the new building was also attended by Police Regional Office-6 Director Cipriano E. Querol, Jr., Director of Integrated Police Operations in Western Visayas Jaime Calungsod, Jr., retired police directors Ernesto Belen and Lucas Managuelod, Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office Director Allan Guisihan, BCPO-OIC Senior Supt. Ricardo De la Paz, Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus, councilors Al Victor Espino and Em Ang, other PNP officials, PSSLAI officers and leaders of the business sector in Bacolod.

Bacalzo commented that the new PSSLAI building in Bacolod can be considered as the safest place to invest in because all the transaction in the office are cashless.

The PSSLAI does not engage in cash transactions. “If you want to be a member and transact with PSSLAI, your transactions will all be through automatic salary deduction. No cash involved,” Bacalzo explained.

He said the opening of the PSSLAI field office in BCPO marks a milestone for the association as it brings its services closer to its clients and stakeholders.

This a strong signal of the commitment and focus of the PSSLAI, Bacalzo added.

The encouraging economic conditions and the strong visions of our national leadership are echoed in this move to bring the PSSLAI service where it is needed here in Bacolod, he stressed.

Bacalzo also hoped that PSSLAI will implement in its daily interaction the key principle that he had started in the PNP which is “the day-to-day practice of good manners and the right performance of duty.”
