Negros gears up for tourism week celebration

THE Provincial Tourism Office has lined up several activities, including the giving recognition to their partners in the industry, during the Tourism Week celebration on September 20 to 25.

This year’s celebration is based on the theme “Tourism and Biodiversity”.

Among the recognition to be given to the partners in the industry are excellence awards for effective implementation of barangay tourism, for emerging tourism activity, for the private sector’s initiative on sustainable tourism, for the local government units' implementation of tourism regulations and function.

Other awards include top 10 excellence awards for the most cooperative tourism offices, packaging Negros, best tourism officer, best tourism office and best tourism blog.

A food festival in line with the promotion of Negros Occidental as an organic province will also be held while a coastal clean-up will be conducted on September 25 in Bago City.
