Yulo: Could the series of earthquakes be the sign of birth pains?

ALL over the world, earthquakes, killings and catastrophes are happening. Even Negros and Panay islands are not spared, though they are not known to be in the fault lines.

Can this be a sign of what Christ said in Matthews’ Gospel Chapter 24 that the prelude to His coming there will be such events that will usher in the end of the age (not the end of the world)?

Our Lord said that, before He comes, those who are alive and have followed His word will be snatched to heaven. Two men will be in the field - one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill - one will be taken and the other left. (Matt. 24:40-41)

It’s only wise to prepare for our eternity. All of us are in the pre-departure area. Our life here is just an hour compared to eternity. After millions of years there, I will be starting for another millions of years, and so on and so forth. No end to happiness or pains. We have that choice.

Many of us have messed up our lives, especially me. But the love of God prevailed, and His Holy Spirit penetrated our thick skulls and led us to the narrow, righteous path.

Those who are left when the rapture comes will suffer the seven years of tribulations. They will want to die but they cannot die. They can still be saved but only thru martyrdom by renouncing the anti-christ who will rule the world. Why wait for our heads to be chopped off?

Personally, I believe all the events happening in the world are the birth pains of the coming of Jesus Christ. When? Nobody knows. But wisdom should guide us to subjugate our earthly desires to things with eternal value. That way, we have an insurance in eternity.
