IT is good that the air waves have Bombo Radyo where the common people could air their feelings, grudges, appreciation and what have you. If there is no such aggressive and helpful radio station in the country that reaches the masses of the far-flung communities in this country, no one could ever imagine how could the common tao share their feelings.

In a coffee station, a coffee addict tells everyone why is it that the people elect their government officials who are meant to be servants of the people, yet when they are in their powerful offices, it is difficult to see those elected officials for concerns of the people?
***
Another jolly coffee bug quipped – Are you still surprised about the attitudes of these government officials when you are yourself already a senior citizen. That is not something new, my friend, he told his drinking partner.

An insurance man from Sum-ag added, our Sum-ag highway has never been asphalted until today even though it is an abortion road and a stunning embarrassment. But those politicians responsible to work on this never care, he added. Truly the Sum-ag highway has not been asphalted until today, but the good concrete pavement of Lacson Street has been paved with asphalt recently, said a low handicap golfer.

A coffee drinker Rotarian butted in at the other table – Rotarians go for the slogan or motto – Service Above Self, he said. Maybe the politicians, except for a few sincere ones, he said probably has a motto – Service for Ones Self. Everyone laughed and coffee was spilled on the floor by a diabetic.

Residents of Bago City and the southern districts are thankful to their Congressman Jeffrey Ferrer for paving the highways of his district. And the roads are now safe and travel made more convenient. If Cong Ferrer can do it, why can’t the others follow suit?

But the residents of Bago City are crying foul for the several recent incidents of ransacking and robberies around the city poblacion and nearby. What is the local police chief doing? Could he not have the patrol cars of his station roam around the city for police visibility? He should know how to prevent crimes. What use is a crime investigation? It is better to prevent than to let crimes happen. LBC office was held up. A pension house ransacked. A store held up. A businessman poked and his money taken. Fighting cocks get stolen. What else? Does the PNP regional director know about this?*
