Much ado about RH Bill
-A A +ABy Johnny Yulo

I HAVE a formula which I adopted from the book of Dale Carnegie of winning an argument. “Keep out of it.” No one can win in it.
The RH bill is pending in Congress. It is the duty of both houses of Congress to pass a legislation that will benefit the majority of the people and the entire country.
All arguments pro and against it must be voiced by the representative of the people. If they approve it with the president approving it too, so be it.
Congressman and Senators were not elected to be led by the nose by religious biases. That is why we should have the independence of church and state. No one should intervene in the function of another. What would have happened if the world listened to the supposed infallible dogma that the earth was flat?
The astronomer Galileo who declared that the earth was round and it revolved around the sun, and that it was not the center of the vast universe, was condemned as a heretic. What if he changed his views to avoid being condemned by religious bigots?
That should be the lesson for members of congress. Just do your duty, what you believe is right for the country. That is what you were elected for. Wave aside the carping of the remnants of some religious groups who still believe in the infallibility of dogmas already discredited by scriptures.
For every 5 votes you lose, you win 10 votes more because the majority of Catholics, non-Catholics, and priests are already practicing it.
