I remember during my graduation year in high school, I was taken in as a young theatre actor in school. It was a tough and memorable experience when the school picked me to be the son of the English teacher Leonora Leonowens (if I recall the exact spelling) of the King of Siam’s several children in the theatrical show “The King & I”.
***
Today the show is now presented in the theatre of Resorts World Manila with fellow Negrense Leo Valdez, brother of sportsman Art Valdez, as the King of Siam. Early viewers of the show were so much impressed with the show production that they found it more worthy to watch than those produced in other countries, they say.

***
So if you are in Manila, please drive to Resorts World Manila and watch The King & I. For our friends like SSB Editor Butch Bacaoco, Carla Canet, bossing Jimmy Golez, Teresa E.D. and others-if you fly to Manila, keep in touch so you might be handed free tickets if ever, to watch The King & I.
***
When I drove to the Silay Airport last Sunday, it was a comfortable drive that the Lacson Highway has been overlaid with thick asphalt. The Lacson concrete road has stayed for decades and with the overlay, the concrete will be more preserved for more decades for our children and grandchildren to enjoy The City of Smile.
***
But when you are in the southernmost part of Bacolod, you get to enjoy or hate the contrast of the Sum-ag Highway. The residents and travellers could not understand why a finger has not been lifted to repair this abortion road for the past three years. If the repair happens soon there is nothing to thank those who will do the job because that is an obligation of government to the people. What is the gimmick behind all these, the commuters are asking.
***
Even if the suffering people are those living in the south of the province, these same people also have relatives, families and friends living in Bacolod City who could dictate their feelings about the serious neglect and irresponsible act of negligence.
***
Why are there a lot of improvements of the highway in Bago City, including the widening of bridges? The public knows that Congressman Jeffrey P. Ferrer is a performing government servant. And his wife is the active City Mayor of La Carlota, Hon. Atty. Juliet Marie Ferrer. Why could other local government leaders not follow the footsteps of this couple who are financially prominent but exert efforts to help and serve their constituents? Wake up, all the rest!*
