Gov. Marañon made a wise choice for vice

THE choice of BM Melvin Ibañez as vice was the most practical move of the Gov. Melvin has treated patients all over the province and maintained his cordial relation with them through the years. He is very strong in his bailiwick, the fifth district.
The decision of Mayor Juliet Ferrer to continue her good work in La Carlota City was a sound one. I'm quite familiar with the problems of the city because I'd been a director of Central La Carlota for 30 years, and 70% of the problems of the city affect the mill.
There has to be good teamwork between the city government and the sugar mill. La Carlota Mill Dist. has a small area. With an expanded capacity, it will gobble up the mill district canes in a few hours then stop if there are no more canes. Such continued stoppage will cost a lot of losses for millers and planters.
The source in Ma-ao and Bago area is very available. The same goes with the sources of Pontevedra and Hinigaran. But roads and bridges from these areas must be maintained to keep the flow of canes unhampered. The city government has done its job well.
BM Ibañez can give a lot of help to Gov. Marañon. His bailiwick is not only the 5th dist. But he has a lot of patients who are big planters and they are just too willing to give him their votes in the farms.
I know a strong team when I see one. They are evenly matched with the other team. Let's keep the fight clean, boys.
