Those Road Repairs and Diggings Must Have Reflecting Warning Signs

-A A +A

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

RESIDENTS of Bacolod could not comprehend why those diggings done by responsible people are giving life risks to the pedestrians and motorists. Common sense will tell any person with a mind created by God that at night, anything not reflecting or provided with lights or lamps could not be clearly visible at night.

***

Whoever is responsible for these diggings should have that little conscience and knowledge in safety that those road repairs without signage are a threat to anyone’s life and vehicle, as well.

***

No one in the government understands the risks, or they just don not give a damn as it will be a little additional cost from the money they will earn, said the owner of a car shop in the north during a beer session.

***

Now that Sum-ag highway is being repaired, there is no one we should thank because that is the obligation of those elected government officials. It is their duty and we do not owe them any thank you neither appreciate it. It’s been too long we have been suffering and now that it is election time, here they repair the road, angrily insisted a retired insurance man.

***

And the Sum-ag road repair lacks reflecting warning signs and it is dangerous at night because Sum-ag is a dark barangay where some elected officials are their bailiwick, added the car shop owner during the session.

***

A resident of Mansilingan hated himself for saying that there are a lot of road repairs in Libertad Extension where he drives everyday and no warning signs are being installed by government so that night driving is safe. He said that the government has to wait for a road mishap before they will spend a few hundreds to install reflecting signs.

***

The retired softdrink salesman said, may we call the attention of the traffic czar, the vice-mayor of this city to come out on the street and try to notice this failure of not installing reflecting signs on the roads they are repairing. Stop passing the buck and just help the common people, he salesman added.

With all these comments from the public, surely, those government officials responsible should not wait for the residents to comment but their aides in government should understand what they are accountable to. If not then they should not be there, said the old grumbling man from Manville.
