Why Are We Paying to Park at the Airport?-A A +A
Tuesday, August 20, 2013
THE airport in any part of this country called The Philippines is built by the national government and funds are taken either by loan or by direct money in the treasury of this country. All the money spent for the rehabilitation, improvement, construction of an airport in this country is paid by the taxes that the common and distinguished citizens of the Philippines.
In simple thinking where one does not need a dictionary neither consult anyone, the airport is a property of the people of the country called Philippines where its people are normally called Filipinos.
In pure context and simple conclusion, this would mean that the Filipino people own all the airports in this country because at the end of the day, the money paid as taxes to the national or local governments come from the people themselves. Simply said, the national government has no money at all if the Filipino taxpayer refuses to pay taxes.
All the above statements and reasoning were collated from the angered and disgruntled residents of Negros Occidental asking Malacanang Palace and the President himself, WHY ARE WE PAYING TO PARK AT THE AIRPORT?
Reliable sources insist that the money collected from the parking fees does not go to the pockets of CAAP neither the national government. A golfer said that there is nothing to maintain in that new Bacolod-Silay National Airport parking area because every corner is clean and tidy. SO he is asking who gets the money collected as parking fees. CAAP is silent, he said.
This parking fee privilege, another golfer said, was given to a group by the previous Gloria Administration. He doubts if this beneficiary even pays for the electricity of the lamp posts in the parking area.
When someone fetches a relative at the airport, he is bound to spend extra money to park. But why so when the airline passengers are already paying a big amount as terminal fee which would already mean that the passengers’ vehicle has the full right to park inclusive in the terminal fee because the entire premises from the entrance to the runway are a part of terminal already. This MUST BE CORRECTED, the airline passenger insists. Too much and very abusive sucking money from travelers, he concluded to tell everyone in the coffee station.
