Editorial: No special treatment?-A A +A
Wednesday, September 4, 2013
IS IT prudent for the Bacolod City Government to grant a "special" permit to Baywalk Restaurant at the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation even just during the MassKara Festival?
Why only Baywalk?
Is there no double standard treatment to this move?
While the local government under Mayor Monico Puentevella may have the noblest of idea to render Baywalk not inutile during the festivities, it must consider the implications behind this as there could be ramifications, business-wise, alongside this decision of the city.
If this is the case, would this not open the floodgates to other business establishments to just operate even without the proper permits, anyway the City will reconsider opening it during the MassKara Fest?
Again, there would seem to be consequential questions relative to this move or plan of the city as regards the Baywalk.
While it may not have any bad intention, its action on this could be treated and interpreted many ways.
It is high time for the city to consider its every move so as not to send a wrong message.
