TODAY I fly from Bacolod-Silay Airport to Davao International Airport on the direct flight of Cebu Pacific Air. It will be another visit to one of the safest cities in the world with the political will of its Mayor Rody Duterte.

The main event of the travel is riding the Airbus A330 of Cebu Pacific Air that arrived last Thursday. The aircraft will fly from Davao City to NAIA 3 Terminal in Pasay City. It is said to be a wide-body aircraft with a seating for 436 passengers. The present Airbus A320 seats around 176, if my memory serves me right. This is another experience for us. I can dance inside the plane.

Last Saturday, the Rotary Club of Bacolod South held its annual Academic Excellence Contest which is a challenge among young students in academic contests among schools. Congratulations to club President Tata Lacson, and all the active officers and members of the club. Surely Mayor Monico helped the club being an honorary member of the Rotary South.

On the first day of March, the new officers and directors of Negros Press Club will commence their leadership and the induction will be held at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall. Elected president is Carla Cañet of Sun.Star Bacolod and our SSB editor-in-chief Nanette Guadalquiver and reporter Merlinda Pedrosa as directors. Congratulations to you all. Some surprises will be on hand that night, President Carla.

This time let us see what we can add in our drinking water to help make us healthier. Lemon: Lemon water makes for a powerful detox drink; lemon juice helps cleanse and alkalize the body. Add one thinly sliced lemon to a large pitcher, or squeeze fresh lemon juice into your glass. Mint: Mint adds a touch of sweetness without the sugar to your water, and it also helps settle your stomach and aids in digestion as well.
Cucumber: Cucumber water isn't just for spas. Adding a few slices of cucumber to your water makes for excellent rehydration, and cucumber contains anti-inflammatory properties, as well. Ginger: The spicy root helps cleanse out your system, aids in digestion, and settles your stomach. A little goes a long way, so start with a few thin slices or grate a tiny piece into your water and taste before adding more as necessary.
