Election fever na-A A +A
Questions that Matter
Tuesday, May 20, 2014
OVER the past week, many national officials, including presidential hopefuls, were in town to do some politically-ridden activities. They seem to be courting the local executives for support and eventually the supporters of these local or home-grown politicians. I will not mention names but I assume that we know who they are by the colors and behaviors they are displaying. My comical mind tells me know to describe these political naked apes and their irrational behaviors.
First, this yellow-clad political figure came with all the crocs, leeches, snakes, puppies and roaches. They all tagged along as this creature passed through the streets to see the biggest solar farm and hopefully to get a “smell” of the beautiful and unpolluted surroundings of the last city of the province.
He was very glad that an initiative is being done in this part of the country for an alternative source of power. For this creature has no more chance of running the show in 2016, he was accompanied by ambitious creatures hoping to get his blessing and maybe his popularity. I saw some pictures of him and his leeches and there they were looking funny and comical.
Next came the native -looking rich kid. He came for an event in the city. There he was telling everyone that he is not campaigning but he is only doing his job. Good boy, please tell it to the natives of Madagascar, they will surely believe you. He said it is the people that put color and meaning to his work and exposures. All he is doing is for the good of the country and the demands of his office. He is even not bothered by the endorsement of another political ape by the governor. Anyway, he was not here to campaign but simply to attend an event. He is not campaigning.
Another political animal came by also and did some pro-poor and pro-people stance. He was very glad for the several endorsements made for his presidential bid. Even his best buddy, the yellow-clad creature had loudly told media his endorsement for his beloved one. All the mechanisms are in place and his winnability is very high – seems familiar in 2010. As early as today, he is seen everywhere and his presence is felt everywhere. He is a good material but not all good materials end up as good presidents. Anyway, we cross our fingers that his presence is not for campaigning but for the service of humanity. He seems like the “big brother” but we have to be careful of the Rated one.
Leeches, crocodiles, puppies and snakes abound anywhere today. They are so visible with national animals. They stick to visitors and provide them with all the accommodations at the expense of the peoples’ money. Looking at them reminds me of security guards and body guards of warlords in the olden days. What a shame. Listen to them, they seem to provide us with great solutions. It seems like they could solve the global crises. Wow, today they look like vermin eating the scraps left by their guests and friends from imperial Manila.
Lastly, the fever is high and it seems like it has evolved into a hemorrhagic fever. As we go near 2016, this fever might become typhoid or high-symptom fever or maybe influenza.
St. Ezekiel Moreno, Pope St. John XXIII and John Paul II, St. Pedro Calungsod and Lorenzo Ruiz, Mons. John Liu and Su, and Sir Faraon Lopez, pray for us.
My condolences to the family of the late Rodolfo Salugsugan, the father of Dean Clifford of UNO-R College of Business and Accountancy.
