Questions that Matter

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

A GOOD friend of mine shared to me the statement of the CPP on the 42nd founding anniversary. There are points that I may disagree but in totality the message was better compared to the messages delivered by our politicians in useless and most often expensive gatherings.

"The Communist Party of the Philippines celebrated its 42nd founding anniversary of the under the theoretical guidance of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism last December 26. They renewed and resolved to fulfill the political and other requirements for advancing from strategic defensive to strategic stalemate in the people's war for national liberation and democracy against US imperialism and the local exploitative classes."

This was how the message of the CPP Central Committee started. It is really a touching statement that for the past more than four decades, they have fought the entry of colonial and imperial thought in the Filipino mainstream.

Were they successful or have they failed in integrating into the Filipino system a sense of social justice? As one continues to read the statement, one gets the idea that the problem of an imperial force controlling the national administration of the country is a force to be reckoned with. As administration changes in this country, the strategy used by this imperialist also change. So, with this, one may say that CPP has failed in getting the support of the masses.

However, looking at another point, Marx had already foreseen this synthesis of opposing forces. The crumbling of the DMZ, the downfall of USSR and the China re-revolution are manifestations of the dialectics of Communism.

Today, the country as in the past centuries had suffered much under the imperialist forces. They have used up the resources that supposed to be for the Filipinos. Many democratic and capitalist states have made use of the resources that you have made the Filipino above all other nations in terms of natural wealth. These countries have even exploited the best human resources of the country. The Aquino administration, in its bid to be accepted by the foreign community, has allowed foreign forces once again to take over the management of the country.

Since the time of Marcos, the CPP had challenged all administrations to fulfill its promises to the masses, which the administration had complied with in the beginning but, towards the end, had sold the Filipinos' body and soul to the foreign imperialists. Worst, the administrations have even adopted the attitude of the imperialists.

The NPAs have devised military and strategic defenses so as to let the government feel the presence of an opposition to any of the oppressive and anti-people policies that it may pass. In the statement, the CPP denounced the marriage between the new administration and the US imperial administration.

Three points were stressed in the collegial statement: 1. Protracted global depression and disorder; 2. The worsening chronic crisis in the of the rotten system and 3. The Party leading the revolution.

The CPP explained clearly that the Philippine economy is being used to feed the hungry economic mouths of the capitalistic societies. It is also clear that the "first world," no matter how they cover it, is suffering from economic, political, social and even moral depression. They no longer understand their position in the global community. Thus, they also want to destroy the position of the developing countries.

The Philippine system is not only rotten but really destroyed. This is chronic in a sense that every now and then we change leaders but retain the system. We simply changed a Chihuahua (GMA) with a Dalmatian (Noynoy) and still retain the old practices of handling the doghouse. The CPP is expected to lead the revolution and not the other pseudo-revolutionaries and right-wing opportunists.

It is farther believed that the struggle will deliver greater success once these are done in the party. Expansion of the party shall be undertaken where undesirable members should never be allowed. A true bloodied party member is one who is really ready to embrace the precepts of the Communist life. Those who shall use the party for personal gain and interest shall never be allowed entry and shall immediately be halted.

Second, the NPA should increase the number of full-time fighters. NPA recruits should be ready to fight any anti-people forces. The new members shall and should adhere to the principles of the warfare and is ready to sacrifice for the common good. The new members shall be full-time and shall advance the cause of the party, which is for social transformation through "stalemate".

The Aquino administration offering its hand for a peace-talk shall be sincere in its bid. The peace process shall only continue when both parties agree on a human and humane situation. PNoy may be sincere but there are still other members of the administration who continue to undermine his capacity to lead. These men shall be the subject of question in the revolutionary movement.

And the party will strengthen its alliances with forces that the government had left behind. There are sectors that are being left behind as the administration continues to struggle to be counted among the supporters of an imperialist country.

I do not say that communism is the best form but at least we have something to look at. At least, here is one that has been with us for the past 42 years. Many negative things had been said but nothing had been proven. I do not also say that they have to take over the government. They will always be there to remind everyone of the struggle for a better life for every Filipino.

I am reminded of my professor in Marxism. He told us that this country had been professing the doctrines of democracy and the poor becomes poorer while the exploitative rich become richer. Now is the time that we have to give chance to other forms of governance. The choice is always with the people and not with the leaders.

Sts. Sebastian and Ezekiel Moreno, Blessed John Paul II and Sir Faraon Lopez, pray for us.
