Panaad Sa Negros 2010 opens today

NEGRENSES will celebrate the Panaad Sa Negros 2010 with Department of Tourism-Western Visayas Director Edwin G. Trompeta as the guest of honor, at its opening program.

The event will open on Saturday, at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City with a theme “United in One Festival, One Negros Occidental.

The festival opening will start with a motorcade at 3 p.m. from the Provincial Capitol grounds passing through the main streets of the city going to Panaad Park where the opening ceremonies will be held.

Governor Isidro P. Zayco and Vice Governor Emilio L. Yulo, III will give their messages.

The 20 Lin-ay sang Negros candidates from the province’s 32 cities and municipalities will also be introduced during the program.

For the raising of banners, Board Member Edgardo Acuna, chairman, Provincial Board Committee on Tourism, Panaad Executive Director Marlin P. Sanogal, and the mayors will lead the raising of the banners.

The best of festival dance competition and fireworks display will follow after the opening program.

GMA Kapuso Night featuring Manila-based artists will also entertain the crowd after the competition to be followed by the performance of the Euphonic Band at the stadium.

The Aldrtz Pabayle sa Panaad will simultaneously be held at the Panaad Park Stage at 7 p.m.
