NEGRENSE World Boxing Organization (WBO) reigning bantamweight champion Gerry Peñalosa of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental will not train International Boxing Federation (IBF)/International Boxing Organization (IBO) flyweight champion Nonito Donaire.
Donaire decided to train in Baguio City and not under Freddie Roach at his Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles.

"My role would be as consultant who will point out what is wrong. That would be my contribution," Peñalosa told newsmen in Manila in an interview during the weekend.
The reigning WBO champ said his elder brother, former world champion Dodie Boy Peñalosa, will train Donaire, while another brother Jonathan, will handle the punch mitts. He said he would make suggestions on strategy and other aspects during the training.
Sources in the US reported that Roach expressed interest in training Donaire, who is moving up to 115 pounds to fight WBO champion Fernando Montiel on March 15 at the Araneta Coliseum.
However, Donaire had earlier expressed interest in training in Baguio City to take advantage of the high altitude of 5,100 feet in the country's summer capital. He also said he wants to help Peñalosa in his preparation for his mandatory title defense against former World Boxing Association (WBA) flyweight champion Erik Morel possibly in April.
The WBO has already set a purse deadline for this fight on January 12.
Donaire said he can help the Negrense champion train by approximating the style of Morel during sparring, even as he revealed that Morel throws a lot of punches and moves a lot.
Peñalosa and Donaire will both prepare for their respective title fights using the training camp of the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (Abap) in Baguio City, the same facility Peñalosa used while preparing for his world title rematch against Korean In Joo Cho on January 2, 2001, in Seoul where the Negrense lost by a controversial split decision.
