Sabado Club eyes title in Bro Ceci volley women's B

SABADO Club is eyeing the title in the Women's Class B against the winner between Provincial Capitol Employees and Silay City on Sunday in the Negros Occidental Volleyball Association (NOVA)-organized 2nd Bro, Ceci Hojilla Memorial Cup Volleyball Championship held at University of St. La Salle College Covered Court.

Sabado Club beat Silay City twice last Saturday and Sunday between two unbeaten
teams in Women's Class B, 25-8, 25-16, 25-20 and 23-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22 &
15-12 to emerge No. 1 and await the outcome of Provincial Capitol Employees and
Silay match on Saturday morning and the loser will win third place.

University of St. La Salle gain the right to be No. 1 team in Women Class A and wait the outcome between University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos and Colegio
San Agustin-Bacolod match on Saturday for the championship round.

In Men's Class A, UNO-R and USLS Alumni will play their match on Saturday and the winner will advance at the start of the championship round on Sunday after
UNO-R defeated CSA-B, 25-15, 25-18 & 25-19 on Saturday following the match-up between USLS and USLS Alumni with the former winning the match, 25-18, 26-24,
17-25, 25-14.

USLS also defeated UNO-R, 25-8, 25-16 & 25-20 and USLS-CAS won over the Provincial Capitol Employees I another Women's Class B match-up.

In Men's Class B bracket A, Provincial Capitol Employees beat Murcia Volleyball Club, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 22-25 & 15-7.

No. 4 team MAW Volleyball Club won over No. 3 team Brgy. Mandalagan, 25-17,
23-25, 25-18 & 25-19; Murcia beat Shape-Up, 25-19, 20-25, 25-19, & 25-10;
NCTV-Silay defeated USLS-CAS, 26-28, 25-21, 25-23 & 25-23, while Silay City escaped Provincial Capitol Employees, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19 & 25-19- all in Men's
Class B bracket B.

MAW and Murcia will meet on Saturday in Men's Class B, Bracket B in the no-bearing match as MAW already assured to advance in the next round awaiting the loser in game 3, followed by UNO-R and USLS-Alumni in Men's Class A and UNO-R and CSA-B in Women's Class A.

In the afternoon, all the match-up will be in the Men's Class B with winner 3 to play against loser 4 and loser 3 against MAW. On Sunday, winner game 5 will play against winner in game 7.

Twenty five (25) teams completed the tournament proper in all divisions according to Roger A. Banzuela, NOVA President who run the tournament.

In the tournament format in Class A Men, the top 2 teams will be determined after SRRS elimination and join invited teams in the Modified SRRS Finals.

In Class A Women, it is a single round-robin system elimination to determine the teams' ranking and three teams will join invited teams in the Modified SRRS Finals too.

In Class B Men, top four teams will be determine after two brackets will play in the SRRS and the top four teams in each bracket will join the Modified Page System finals. While in the Class B Women, SRRS elimination will determine the teams' ranking and the top four teams to play in the Modified Page System finals.

The tournament is a year-round project of NOVA in helping develop volleyball competitions in the province and other key cities with participation from various volleyball clubs for them to become competitive.
