Sayson lauds INC endorsement

VICE Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson on Thursday lauded the endorsement of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) of the majority candidates of Grupo Progreso led by incumbent City Mayor Evelio Leonardia for May 10, 2010 election.

INC headed by executive minister Eduardo Manalo, and in Bacolod City by District Minister Edmundo Padilla endorsed incumbent city mayor Leonardia, incumbent vice mayor Sayson, as well as independent congressional candidate Renecito Novero, and majority of the Grupo Progreso re-electionists councilors Alex Paglumotan, Homer Bais, Dindo Ramos, Al Victor Espino, Roberto Rojas, and new comers Caesar Distrito, Em Ang and Carl Lopez. The INC also endorsed independent running councilors includes JV Hinlo, Bobby Coscolluela and Elmer Sy.

Sayson said that ever since he started his political career, he was very thankful that he was always being endorsed by the INC, “since I started as barangay kagawad, chieftain of barangay Sum-Ag, councilor and now vice mayor of Bacolod, INC always supported my candidacy.”

Sayson lauded the trust and confidence of INC for the Grupo Progreso, noting that INC probably evaluated the present administration’s record, especially the City Council, which was earlier awarded as best city council in the entire country.

He noted that the INC has almost 10,000 members in Bacolod City.

Councilors Bais and Paglumotan also lauded the endorsement of the INC, of which majority of the running councilors who were endorsed are from Grupo Progreso.

The alderman claimed that the said religious group not just only endorsed

candidates, “but they have their own basis or screening to endorse politicians, which means, we also passed their standard.”

Leonardia in the meantime earlier said that he’s very grateful and overwhelmed that INC gave him the trust and confidence, since this would be something that he treasures because INC is an institution he holds in very high esteem.
