SJI takes on ETCS; BTTHS tests PLS in Batang Scott's opening

BATANG Scott's 10 and Under basketball tournament opens on Saturday with NOPSSCEA defending champion St. John's Institute and third placer Bacolod Tay Tung High School taking on ETCS and Pontevedra Learning School at Po Hang gym of BTTTHS starting at 7:30 a.m.
Ryan Lio Tumbagahan, Associate ASM-West Visayas of organizing GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Philippines and tournament commissioner Renato Bravo held its final meeting with coaches on Friday at McDonalds-East.

Credentials such as birth certificates and Form 137 were submitted to support the entries of pre-selected schools. Schedule of games were distributed while rules and guidelines were discussed and confirmed by participating coaches.
At 1:30 p.m. University of St. La Salle and Trinity Christian School test each other skills while Corazon Locsin Memorial Elementary School and Montevista Elementary School contest the day's fourth match.
On Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Mabini Elementary School debuts against ETCS and St. Benilde School duels TCS.
The games shift to 888 Activity Center on September 18 with USLS challenging CLMES at 8:00 a.m. SJI and BTTHS complete the morning's doubleheader at 9:30 while Pontevedra LS and Mabini ES compete at 1:30 followed by Montevista ES and SBS.
Tumbagahan and Bravo announced that surprise gift packages will be awarded to the school with the best banner and the Best Parent - Son tandem.
Tournament format calls for a round robin elimination for each bracket with number 1 in A meeting number 2 of B in the crossover semifinal and vice versa. Losers play for third and the winners dispute the championship.
An 8-8-8-10 minute-for-each-quarter will be followed, there will be no bench warming and should there be any protest in qualification, it should be done within an hour of the game contested.
