BACOLOD Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) and St. John's Institute are still the teams to beat in the 12-under category while St. Benilde School (SBS), BTTHS, and University of St. La Salle (USLS) took notice in the 10-under in the ongoing Condura-Basketball Coaches Association of Negros at USLS-IS covered court.

Tay Tung gave Mike Lim Basketball Clinic-Stallions a neat lesson, 82-38 and SBS, 70-48 over the weekend. SJI likewise stunned USLS, 55-37 and LLZ Warriors, 77-48 to stay within striking distance in the 12U group.

The activity is part of the Don Bosco Football Club (DBFC) summer clinic and culmination event.

WEST Negros University (WNU) Junior Mustangs and Pony Basketball dumped their respective opponents on Friday in the ongoing 2nd Coca-Cola Youngstars Basketball League at the WNU Gym.

The Junior Mustangs, behind John Lemuel Pastias' game-high 32 points, outpointed the Legends, 100-70. Jaycee Sam Adjie added 19 points, Ericson Yulo scored 13 points while Kobe Bryan Viscarra and Antonio Cacho chipped in 6 points apiece.

BASKETBALL Coaches Association of Negros (BACAN) is set to implement its second project tentatively on May 4. Target participants are basketball enthusiasts aged 10 and 12 years old, whether school-based or out-of-school youth.

DEFENDING champion Dynamic Builders FC and runner-up Ceres FC fortified their team standing towards the semifinals on April 28 with victories over separate opponents last Sunday in the 1st Conference of the North Football League at the Ayala North pitch in Talisay City.

Dynamic's veteran defender Jason Cordova got an early penalty kick in the 3rd minute to book a 1-0 lead. Midfielder Jason Panhay scored quick back-to-back goals in the 5th and 7th minutes to register a 3-nil advantage in less than 10 minutes of the ball game.
