One flew over Koko's nest

LIKE laws, promises are made to be broken.
A basketball commissioner goes cuckoo after discovering that the funds for an age group tournament are not coming. Since November last year when the Congressman Doc Golez/Senator Koko Pimentel Basketball Cup opened at Regent Pearl covered court, not a single cent was received.
Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos.
Probably with so many Cups being supported by the solon and the senator, basketball was the last of their priorities. But why attend the opening and make the organizers believe that help is coming?
Short of saying that politics and sports is a bad mix? The commissioner was about to make his own concoction after failing to get the right reaction from the wrong people who together planned the tournament.
Now those involved are passing the ball, er, the buck. They are good point guards alright - quick, smart evaders. The problem is that their people are better interceptors. These ones are defensive specialists - they anticipate, steal or swipe the ball.
At crunch time, the confused commissioner found himself alone holding an empty bag. Worst, since he is the one running the tournament, he must look for ways to pay for the gym and the referees.
How on earth did I get into this mess, he asked himself.
He could have concentrated in coaching kids for a fee after losing as barangay councilman in his place. Or perhaps endearing himself to his wife by being a 163 or bantay bata to his first grandson.
Well, there goes good intention or ambition as preparation for the next election.
If you still believe that politics is addition, yours is subtraction.
Figures don't lie. The amount requested for the tournament could be adjusted to their own liking as you said.
If it was too high, they can reduce. It's their money after all.
Well, they are not of the Pidal variety, however.
Just fly and get over with it.
Be sharp next time.
