Sta. Fe, leading 40-37 at halftime, extended the lead in the 3rd quarter to 62-47 behind a balanced offensive by Bol Manaloto who scored 7 points teaming up with Arvin Chua and Wilson Dy who drilled 4 points each.

The trio of Marc Lo, Richard Co and Rey Pandoro combined for 19 points to rally 888, but the timely hits by Chua, Clarence QUingco and Chingsan Su made the difference to eke out the two-point victory.

Sta. Fe delivered a balanced offensive, with 8 players scoring 6 or more points led by Edward Uy with 16; Chua with 15; Manaloto with 12; Su, Jan Jan Young and Quingco with 8 each; while Dy and Johann Villanueva had 6 points each.

Co spearheaded 888 with 19 points; Lo added 13; Pandoro made 12; while Brian Tan and Ong picked up 6 points each.

After starting out with two losses, Alfie’s strung up three straight wins in surviving the 31-point output by Yan Yan Dy of Nena’s Rose I.

Alfie’s took the opening quarter, 17-13, and remained on top at the break 44-40, as David Lim and Luigi Coo with 7 points each conspired with Christopher Mahinay’s two treys to neutralize the 17-points output delivered by Dy.

Alfie’s never yielded the driver’s seat in the 2nd half but had some anxious moments, as Nena’s Rose cut the lead to 78-77 in the last 2 minutes but Chibon Uy and Peter Galon scored the last 5 points for Alfie’s to seal the victory.

Galon paced Alfie’s with 18 points, Uy pumped in 14, Lim delivered 11, Jeremy Coo scored 10, Mahinay 8 and Garrucho hit 7 points.

Backstopping Dy were Danny Boy Uy finishing with 11 points, Luigi Coo had 9, while Richard Uy and Joel Masadia scored 8 points each.
