LEAGUE leader Condura used its reserves in the final half to repulse Melfern-San Dionisio, 87-68 last Sunday and claimed top spot in the elimination round of 2012 Sharp-Basketball Unified Sports Group invitational tournament at West Negros University gym.
The Ref Makers finished with a clean 5-0 slate, as guards Digol Benedicto scored 23 points and Rene Antones added 10 markers to give Condura a twice-to-beat advantage in the semis scheduled on July 22.
Rene Verde and Jose Cadagat combined with 36 points in San Dionisio AC's losing cause.
Syntax, whose only loss was dealt by Condura, 70-77 two Sundays ago, took the number two spot, nipping Panasonic, 94-91. The TV Makers (2-3) dropped to fourth, as Homesite Basketball Organization (3-2) clobbered BACIWA, 101-82 to grab third place. Panasonic and HBO are looking to extend the SF series on July 29.

Panasonic, which trailed 43-44 at half, got 33 points from Hermi Derwill and 24 from center Rey de Guzman. Koko Fuentebella scattered 14 markers and Macky Macayan sniped 11.
HBO did not miss Amit Teruel as James delos Reyes waxed hot with 30 points, 18 coming from the arc, Francis Occida powered his way with 23 and Jomario Mahilum added 10. Lanky Bantong, Rustom Depalubos and Adrian Melocoton combined with 26 points to share the scoring load.
