Phoenix post 4th straight win-A A +A

Phoenix 1999/2k notched its 4th straight win at the expense of Raga Raga 2003/04/05 83-61 while Eleven Degrees 1996/97/98 held off Petron 2001/02/12 69-64 last Thursday in the 5th SJI Alumni Basketball Friendship Cup played at the Msgr. John Liu Activity Center.
Phoenix and Ceres Pasalubong are the only undefeated teams in the tourney with identical 4-0 win-loss cards.
Phoenix outscored Raga in all quarters and displayed a balanced offensive led by Eduardo Ng with 14 points, Mark Jimenez 12 points, Bogs Ongsingco added 9 points, Paolo Li and John Lee scored 8 points apiece and Siegfried Bitanga with 7 points.
Mark Vasquez paced Raga with 18 points, Michael Sian scored 12 points while Carlo Ongsingco, Jonepi Culado and Don Chua delivered 6 points each.
In the other game, Eleven Degrees came out on top against Petron in a battle of teams with just a solitary win each.
Daniel Tan scored 9 points in the opening quarter to give Eleven Degrees a 17-12 lead.
Martin Ballesteros and Clarence Quingco combined for 13 points, as Petron closed the gap at the break, 32-31, even as Roberto Uy tallied 8 points for Eleven Degrees.
Uy continued with his offensive contribution in the 3rd quarter with 7 points, as he complemented Dino Tongco’s low post attacks which produced 8 points, allowing Eleven Degrees to extend the lead to 57-50.
Joshua Co contributed 9 points for Petron.
Both teams struggled offensively in the payoff quarter which is to the liking of Eleven Degrees. Even though they were outscored 14-12, it was still enough to hold on for the victory.
Uy spearheaded Eleven Degrees with 19 points, Tan picked up 14 points, Tongco made 12 points and Arvin Chua delivered 11 points.
Co finished with 15 points, Tan 10 points, Ballesteros 9 points, Lacson 8 points and Ralph Ong and Quingco 6 points apiece.
