BCAN summer clinic set April 1-12 at SJI

NEWLY formed Basketball Coaches Association of Negros will conduct its first project, a basketball clinic, on April 1 to 12 at St. John's Institute Activity Center in Bacolod City.
BCAN president Bobby Tee said Wednesday that Lito Librodo of Tangub Christian Academy will head a 10-man training team, all members of the association.
Six coaches and three supervisors will handle the clinic for kids 12 years and under from 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday. Registration fee is pegged at P1,200, which entitles a trainee a T-shirt and basketball ball upon finishing the course.
Other trainors are Rey Pandoro (Bacolod Tay Tung High School), Nene Sibaya (SJI), Marloni Gonzales (University of St. La Salle), Lyndon Locsin (St. Benilde School), Gerom Aledron (University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos) and Arvin Gustilo (Trinity Christian School).
Jake Azucena, (SJI), Elmo Quiatchon (MCA) and Rene Cuizon will supervise the training which gives premium to basics, conditioning, fundamentals and teamwork.
BCAN, organized late last year, aims to solidify its group, promote goodwill among members, develop more kids to love the sport and improve their skills.
Regional chairman Robert Uy of Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas was the guest speaker in BCAN's induction. The owner of Toyota Iloilo and Bacolod supported with seed money during his meeting with BCAN officials and members.
