MANG Inasal forced a triple tie atop the standings after defeating Dynamic Metals 84-76, while Johann Kendrick Tan got back on the winning track by routing Fox Shox 115-88 in Class B action of the 13th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Cup at TTHS Po Hang Gym.

Mark Binguan and Clarence Quingco combined for 19 points to put Mang Inasal ahead with a commanding 30-12 lead in the opening quarter.

Dynamic Metals cut the deficit at the break 45-35, as the trio of Johnnyson Yu, Charlton Ong and Chibon Uy conspired for 23 points.

The lead was restored to 69-54, as Joel Masadia, unstoppable in the low post, tallied 12 points.

Julius Teruel and Yu rallied Dynamic in the 4th quarter, cutting the deficit down to a single digit, but Inasal's Shinley Uy and Mark Binguan's 7 and 5 points, respectively, was enough to repel the comeback.

Binguan and Masadia spearheaded Mang Inasal's offense with 14 points apiece, Uy added 13 points, Dandan Ong scored 8 points and Biboy Yap shot 6 points.

Dynamic Metals was led by Uy with 16 points, backstopped by Yu with 15 points, Julius Teruel 14 points, Ong shot 8 points and Brian Tan hit 6 points.

In the other game, JKT scored at least 26 points in all of the quarters to outlast Fox Shox.

Fox Shox took an early 8-2 lead on Marc Lo's inside incursions, but a shift by JKT to a box in one defense on Lo stymied the Shox offensive set.

John Montemayor jumpstarted the JKT offense with 12 points and Joshua Co added 12 points for a 26-21 advantage, even as Marc Lo had 13 points and Livingstone Ang delivered 6 points.

RB Chua and Yan Yan Dy spearheaded the offensive juggernaut in the 2ndquarter, contributing 10 and 9 points, respectively, to put some distance with Shox 56-31 at the break.

John Paul Tan and Michael Ang combined for 14 points, but a balanced JKT offensive bannered by Ryan Alegario's 12 points extended the advantage to a commanding 85-56 lead.

Michael Ang sunk 3 treys and Marc Lo added 10 points in a last ditch effort, trimming the lead to 21 points, but JKT was quick to counter with their fastbreak attacks and 3-point shooting to register its 2nd win in 4 games.

Dy paced JKT with 21 points, Alegario delivered 20 points, Chua and Montemayor with 17 points each, Danny Boy Uy and Jerky Ong with 9 points apiece, Stephen Tan made 8 points while Joshua Co and Celhelm Uy picked up 6 points apiece.

Marc Lo had a game-high 27 points in a losing effort, Michael Ang scored 19 points all in the 2nd half, John Paul Tan delivered 17 points, Daniel Lo and Ryan Tumbagahan had 9 points each and Livingstone Ang had 7 points. (Stephen Tan/Contributor)
