SBP's Uy, Agustin guests in BCAN summer clinic

BOARD member and regional commissioner Robert Uy of Samahang Basketbolista ng Pilipinas and SBP Negros Occidental commissioner Anthony Agustin will be guest speakers when the summer clinic of the Basketball Coaches Association of Negros opens on April 1 at St. John's Institute Activity Center here in Bacolod City.
Some 100 young aspirants ages 8 years old and above have already enlisted to the camp which will run up to April 12. Workshop will be on Mondays to Fridays only says BCAN president Bobby Tee on Tuesday. The former coach of Bacolod Tay Tung High School said that camp t shirts and balls will be given on the first day for those who have already paid their registration fees of P1,200.
UNO-R coach Gerom Aledron is now the head trainor for BCAN coaches with additional mentors joining the training staff. Champion coaches Jack Tumayan (WNU) and Peewee Demonteverde (USLS), Arlan Blanco (USLS), Nestor Ordonio (BCCN) and Jojo Banilla (TCS) have joined Magro Librodo (Tangub Christian Academy), Rey Pandoro (Bacolod Tay Tung High School), Nene Sibaya (SJI), Marloni Gonzales (University of St. La Salle), Lyndon Locsin (St. Benilde School), Gerom Aledron (University of Negros Occ.-Recoletos) and Arvin Gustilo (Trinity Christian School).
Jake Azucena, (SJI), Elmo Quiatchon (MCA) and Rene Cuizon will supervise the training which gives premium to basics, conditioning, fundamentals and teamwork.
BCAN,organized late last year, aims to solidify its group, promote goodwill among members, develop more kids to love the sport and improve their skills. Its members have been trained with the latest teachings in Manila workshops related to National Basketball Training Center's outreach programs in the provinces.
