TEN young Negrense jins, spearheaded by Hanah Taekwondo gym’s multi-awarded head coach Vic Feria, will be competing in the Visayas Milo qualifying tournament this weekend at the Cebu City Sports Complex.
Players who will undergo the selection process to earn the right to advance to the National Milo Championship include Living Stone International School’s standouts Deb Matthew Daclan and Marcus Ernesto Hinojas. Daclan is the reigning 2013 National Best Player awardee while Hinojas is last year’s best player.
Also in the roster are Arielle Legaspi of Negros Occidental High School (national team); Caroline Dean Espinosa of St. John’s Institute (2013 Palarong Pambansa mainstay); Jan Mickael Demonteverde of St. Joseph School-La Salle (2012-2013 National Championships champion team member); Allyssa Trisha Hanaya of OBCA-Murcia (2013 Nationals Champion team member); La Consolacion College-Bacolod's Levi Michael Deriada (2013 Nationals Champion team member) and Wenchi Doromal; Nel Trisha Serimogan (2013 Nationals Champion team member) from Talisay South Elementary School; and Gabrille and Lemarj Nualda from J.O.Y Christian School.
Earlier, the team captured the overall championship title in the 11th Manapla Taekwondo Championships recently held at the Northland Resort Hotel-Event Center in Manapla town, Negros Occidental.
Further, the Hanah AMTC–NTU Tigers had made a remarkable achievement early last month when they won the Cadet Boys and Grade School Girls divisions plum.
Composing the champion Cadet Boys are Daclan, Hinojas, Keith Smart Docado, Demonteverde, Deriada, Joshua Rosalia, and Anton Guinanao while the Grade School Girls division was bannered by tournament Best Player Camille Andrea Miraflores, Serimogan, Hanaya, Via Veronica Trocio, and Shaira Garbanzos.
Unfortunately, its Cadet Girls Division composed of Kathleen Dinsay, Princess Park Julienne Bermejo, Arielle Legaspi, Mary Joy Telequido, and Doromal, failed to make it. (HGD)
