Wednesday, August 21, 2013
WEST Negros University in Bacolod City tries to duplicate the feat of its older brothers when it faces University of St. La Salle Green in the semifinals of BCAN "Developmental" League aspirant division at 2 p.m. at WNU gym.
St. John's Institute and USLS-Black follows at 3:30 p.m. in a knockout game to determine the other finalist this weekend.
The Green Stingers have a slight psychological advantage having beaten the younger Mustangs, 86-80, in their first encounter.
The next level, however, is always a different story as the vanquished always try to turn the tables when the stakes are high. It will also apply with SJI and the Black Stingers as the younger Falcons were beaten, 93-67, in their first meeting.
Both games will be hard-fought as the vanquished will be relegated to third place while the victorious see another day and be the best aspirant team in the finals.
BCAN president Bobby Tee and commissioner Jake Azucena foresee tight and exciting matches today. (HGD)
