BUS Group split games in Cebu-A A +A

VISITING Basketball Unified Sports (BUS) Group split its games against Cebu 40 Aces recently winning the 50-below category, 85-66 while losing, 69-78 in 50-up division.
The younger Huskies was up 43-33 at half and never relinquished the lead as Hermie Derwill, Koko Fuentebella, Felipe Tumamot, Rey de Guzman, and Raymundo Sapa outplayed the hosts.
Derwill finished with 22 points, Fuentebella backstopped with 21, Tumamot added 15, de Guzman has 14 and Sapa 10.
40 Aces tried to rally but came up short with only Boy Forrosuelo drilling 15, Toks Yulpe hitting 13, Bay Polda chipping 10, Kid Guillen scattering 10 and Pete Ibon - eight.
In contrast, the Cebuano 50-Uppers were way ahead 48-30 at lemon time but lost half of its lead as the Bacolodnons rallied late in the third. Brothers Rene and Winnie Antones scored 10 points each as BUS Group tried to come back early in fourth.
Steve Leonidas and Vic Duenas added 10 apiece while Edgar Basco and Arturo Tomaro combined for 17 markers but were not enough to deny 40 Aces to get even.
The hosts' offense was provided by Tata Lubagkoy with 20 points, Jun Masong scattered 17, Ar Ar has 10, Ikee Ibon, Jun Bejoc, and Rick Anckerman drilled in nine each and Bords Basalo - eight.
The Huskies trip to Cebu was authorized by adviser Bing Soyao as recommended by Rene Antones, in charge of special events in the Core Committee of BUS Group.
BUSG, a legitimate ballclub composed of some 50 professionals aged 35 to 70, is open for new members. Headed by Soyao, the Huskies are practicing in its new home, the Jamero Group of Companies (JGC) gym at Goldenfields Commercial Complex every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 p.m.
