UNIVERSITY of St. La Salle-Integrated School and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos continued to show force as their young booters keep the 1-2 spots in the ongoing Negros First U13 Football Tournament at the Panaad Park and Stadium.
The younger Stingers has registered 8 victories and a draw, the latest crashing West Negros University, 5-0, as Rafael Gonzaga hit 2 consecutive goals in the 19th and 21st minute of the match.
The La Sallians were not satisfied with a 2-nil lead and further break WNU's defenses as Ariq Villo and Ralph Castro nailed two more in the 33rd and 36th minutes to close the half, 4-nil. Ryan Locsin blasted the net as the final nail, in the 47th minute.
UNO-R, shadowing closely with 8 wins and a loss, demolished Bata Elementary School, 10-1, after Denzel Rey Dayon drew first blood in the 2nd minute.
Surprised, the Baby Rams went on a rampage behind Mark Cantos and Christian Rufin who drills 3 goals each.
Cantos drove in on the 6th minute the equalizer, while Luis Clauor scored in the 9th minute for the lead. Rey Gerald Javelona struck one in the 23rd as Rufin earned his first in the 25th and rolled in another in the 37th minute. Jericho dela Cruz and Jefferson Tolimao connected in the 40th and 43rd minutes to close the break at 7-1.
UNO-R was not through yet in the final half as Cantos scored two more goals (45th and 47th minutes) while Rufin made his 3rd goal in the 50th to seal the win.
In the other matches, ranked No. 3 Andres Bonifacio Elementary School (7-2) stunned defending champion Moises Padilla, 3-1 behind Ezekiel Macote's twin goals in the 16th and 27th minutes.
Moises Padilla's Jim Mendoza evened the board in the 25th minute but was not enough to create a spark in the team as Bryant John Alianza finally silenced the defending champion with a goal in the 33rd minute.
Apolinario Mabini Elementary School (7-2) has kept its position in the Top 4 escaping from Don Bosco Technical Institute, 4-3.
Mabini scored back-to-back goals in the early 2nd and 3rd minutes behind Seth Michael Cañada and Neil John Panes to post a 2-0 lead. DBTI quickly erased the difference as John Llloyd Bentic hit back on the 5th and 9th to equalize. Jacob Inoferio added another in the 25th minute for a 3-2 advantage.
Mabini's Johnsent Catoto tied the game anew in the 28th minute for a 3 all at the break. Panes completed the reversal in the 49th minute giving Mabini its 7th victory in the league.
St. Scholastica's Academy also made a stunning 10-nil performance over Montevista Elementary School as Luigi Granada (1'), Chrys Ian Pahilanga (3', 4'), Fritz Grijaldo (6', 21'), Sean Jamora (25'), Liam Michael Jones (31', 35'), John Philip Jocson (43'), and Fuentespina (47') made the game as a scrimmage.
Trinity Christian School and St. John's Institute ended their match in a scoreless draw. (HGD)
