Sanyo repeats over Panasonic-A A +A
Monday, October 21, 2013
PANASONIC continued to struggle and Sanyo stayed unbeaten coasting to a 79-65 win for its four straight in the Sharp Cup-BUS Group intercolor at JGC gym at Goldenfields Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.
Point guard John Odango surprisingly outpointed his fellow Freezer Masters with 22 points as Garry Garcia settled for 16 markers, Hermie Derwill with 13 and Ringo Lacanilao 12. Center Ed Basco, Rene Antones, Matt Rayo and Arturo Tomaro concentrated in controlling both boards.
The luckless Panasonic, now at 1-3, got 28 points from Rey de Guzman but the rest shot bricks with no one collecting double figure scores. The Ref Makers never recovered after trailing 46-62 and missed the services of ex-CSA-B Eagle Bandoy Aliermo.
Panasonic will have a try to redeem its 76-95 loss to Condura in the first round when they meet at 7:00 p.m. today. A win will bolster its chance for the number two spot and a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinal.
Condura at 3-1 is likewise bent to take this game for a firm hold of second place going to the semis as Sanyo will be its last assignment.
Commissioner Bing Soyao sees a tight fight for second between Panasonic and Condura as there is a possibility for both to finish the elimination round at 3-3.
