2013 Batang Pinoy MOA signing today-A A +A

THE Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and hosts Province of Negros Occidental and City of Bacolod will sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the 2013 Batang Pinoy National Finals at 10 a.m. today at the Bacolod Government Center.
The national sports competition will be staged in Bacolod City from Nov. 19-23.
PSC Commissioner Salvador Andrada will sign the MOA for PSC Chairman Ricardo “Richie” Garcia while Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. will be represented by Romeo Magat. Gov. Alfredo Maranon Jr. and Mayor Monico Puentevella will sign for the province and the city, respectively.
Some 4,000 athletes, coaches and officials are set to arrive in Bacolod to take part in the five-day sports competition among them 1,000 from Luzon, 800 from Visayas and 700 from Mindanao.
The athletes, aged 15 years old and below, will compete in 20 sports disciplines, including arnis, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, chess, cycling, dance sport, futsal, karatedo, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, triathlon, wrestling, weightlifting and volleyball.
