BACOLOD jins won two gold medals and a silver in the just-concluded 5th Milo Little Olympics National Finals held in Cebu City.
Head coach Vic Feria of Hanah Taekwondo gym said the three gold medals which the Visayan teams won are among the eight golds at stake in the junior boys division. Five were brought home by Luzon.
Bacoleño gold medalists were Deb Matthew Daclan (59-63 kgs) of Living Stone International School and Jason Lennard Locsin (45-48kgs) of West Negros University. The other Visayan medalist was Kristian Tagarao of Cebu.
Settling for silver was Jan Mickael Casaña of St. Joseph School-La Salle with Lovett Uy de Ong of Ateneo de Iloilo and Kyle John Flores from Cebu taking home the same medal.
Daclan is a 2013 Smart Nationals best player and Philippine Team cadet member. He recently underwent training in Korea in preparation for the 2014 World Cadet Taekwondo Championships and 2014 Asian Games.
Casaña bagged a gold medal in the just-concluded 7th Chicago Taekwondo Open at the Guerin College Preparatory High School in River Grove Illinois, USA.
Feria together with Daclan and Casaña left for Manila on Tuesday to take part in the evaluation in preparation for 2014 World Junior Championship and World Cadet Championships which will be held in Taipei in March next year.
