CERES Transport Football Club celebrated all night long after dethroning erstwhile titlist Dynamic Builders FC in the 3rd Conference of North Football League Sunday at the North Point pitch.
Both clubs came out with dazzling performance in the first half displaying offensive and defensive toughness at both ends for 45 minutes without a goal.
The Nonoy Fegidero-mentored Ceres Transporters made some adjustments in the final half. The strategy paved the way for several incursions before eventual Most Valuable Player Janrick Soriano scored the winning goal in the 60th minute.
Dynamic tried to even the score but the Builders failed unable to find better angles and driving lanes eventually yielding to frustration as time expired.
Awarded Best Striker is Ceres’ Joshua Fegidero with 16 goals while teammates Michael Casas and Lemuel Unabia were hands down pick for Best Goalkeeper and Best Defender, respectively.
Dynamic’s Jayson Panhay was adjudged Best Midfielder while Kent Guevarra of Jakalz FC was named Most Improved Player.
Trimaxi-Agro FC finished second runner-up while the Fair Play Award went to Silver Dragon FC.
While the champions celebrate, their "brothers" in Ceres-La Salle FC are preparing to defend their PFF-Smart National Club Championship title for the final qualifying round at Panaad Stadium on December 9-21.
The Final Qualifying Round will be on Dec. 9-13, followed by the home-and-away format semifinal matches on Dec. 15-18.
The Finals, also a home and away format, will be on Dec. 19-21.
