Nopsscea elementary sweeps badminton in Prov’l Meet-A A +A

THE Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (Nopsscea), representing Area 8, swept the badminton events in elementary division during the 2013 Provincial Meet played at the Pohang Badminton Center.
With the victory, Nopsscea will represent the province of Negros Occidental in next year’s Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet.
Sean Justine de Jesus won the gold medal in the boys singles after defeating his teammate John Daniel Ababao in the finals as the tandem of Justine Daniel Anglo and Carl Jericho Tan topped the doubles’ event.
Area 3, on the other hand, finished second as Area 2 and Area 7-Bacolod City settled for third.
In the distaff side, Susmita Angelique Ramos captured the gold medal after beating teammate Ellana Tan in the girls singles while the team of Cheska Lomugdang and partner Leoj Derayuman dominated the doubles’ category.
Area 4 and Bacolod City finished bronze in the girls singles and girls’ doubles events.
Area 7 also dominated the mixed doubles event as Anglo and Ramos triumphed over Area 3's Gerardo Jamili Jr. and Alee Morales tandem.
Nopsscea likewise prevailed in the boys’ and girls’ team-tie competition with Area 2 finishing with silver while Bacolod City and Area 3 settled for bronze.
Nopsscea bets also captured the gold in the secondary boys’ doubles behind Heinrick Garcia and Isamael Reinoso. Silver in the singles event went to Earl Joseph Carballo.
Area 7 also took silver in the mixed doubles with the team of Garcia and Sarah Sabino losing the final game to the Lopez siblings, Glenn Carlo and Danielle of Area 4.
The Lopezes also won the gold medals in the boys and girls events.
Amica Duay and Mia Mangilimotan of Talisay City snatched gold in the girls’ doubles as well as in the secondary girls’ team-tie. Completing the team are Shane de Loyola and May Minuluan.
Area 2 won the secondary boys’ team-tie while finishing silver in the boys’ and girls’ doubles, and secondary girls’ team-tie.
