NOW there are only three unbeaten teams in the SeaOil-National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Bacolod leg eliminations.
Defending champion West Negros University and Living Heritage Christian Academy are locked at 3-0 in bracket A while Bacolod Tay Tung High School reigned supreme in group B with a 5-0 card as of Sunday.
The Junior Mustangs stomped St. John's Institute-"B", 68-44, on December 7 and beat an undermanned Blue Falcons-"A," 73-70, yesterday for its third win in as many outings at the WNU gym here.
LHCA likewise dropped SJI-"A" on December 8 with an unforgiving 96-47 demolition job putting coaches Dominic and John Chua's wards in an awkward position at 3-2 diminishing its chance for the top 2 and a semis spot.
BTTHS, playing like the team-to-beat, scorched Tangub Christian Academy, 111-46, on the seventh and blasted University of Negros Occidental Recoletos, 93-53, on the eighth.
The Thunderbolts of brother-coaches Tata and Sammy Belangel burned Mansilingan Christian Academy on Saturday with a no-mercy 111-36 win to sweep clean bracket B.
University of St. La Salle-Integrated School remained on Tay Tung's tail and a semifinal slot at 4-1 with victories over St. Benilde School, 74-44, on December 7, and 71-61 against UNO-R last Saturday.
The top two teams in each bracket will figure in a crossover semifinal, with the winners gaining a final spot and a chance to represent Bacolod City in the national finals.
Other games saw SBS nipping TCA, 73-70 giving Coach Lyndon Locsin an edge over mentor Lito Librodo whose TCAians likewise lost to UNO-R, 54-70 yesterday.
