Bacolod eyes final slot in 3-on-3-A A +A

BACOLOD City's 3-on-3 team survived Sta. Rosa, Laguna, 15-14 yesterday at the slippery Panaad basketball court for its third straight win in the second day of Batang Pinoy National Finals.
Coach Tata Belangel was not happy with the result but nevertheless was quick to appease his boys as the quartet of Miggy Corteza, SJ Belangel, Jesmar Pedrosa and Errol Pastor are set to face dangerous Passi City from Iloilo Province next at 4 p.m.
Laguna led 13-12 but the trio from Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) and the bull-strong Pastor from Cadiz City rallied enough to book a scary win. Laguna, which was beaten by Cebu, tried to beat the clock twice but failed.
The hosts surprised Cebu, 17-6 in its opening game and demolished Naga, 20-4 on Wednesday at the Po Hang gym. A stuck roller wheel of the movable goal forced organizers to transfer the venue but games will return today at BTTHS.
Win or loss against Passi, Bacolod is scheduled to meet Zamboanga at 11:30 a.m. and Pangasinan at 4 p.m. the next day. The top two after the eliminations will clash for the championship on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. after the girls side final.
