KID Leyes and Caroline "Tata" Yanson-led Batch 86 replaced erstwhile back-to-back champion Batch '69 headed by Boy Geronca and Johnny Garcia in the 26th St. Joseph School-La Salle (SJS-LS) Alumni Duckpin Bowling Tournament at Lopue's East Bowling Center.
The top 10 teams after the elimination round had a two-game battle to determine the top five squads which would face each other in the up-the-ladder finals.
The new rules set by the host Batch 73, caused the entry of B'86, Elmer Liboon-led B'78, Jun Lozada's B'83, Gary Laurico's B'72, and B'69 in the championship round.
B'69 showed resiliency by beating the three best teams in the finals but lost steam against eventual champion B'86 composed of team captain Dan Convite, Leyes, Yanson, John Mayang, Silverio Farol, Joamarie Caunca, Romulo Diaz, Greg Chua, Rey Jaranilla, Boy Balangus, Veronica Echauz, Leney Santgiao, Arnel Desampatado, Charleen Verdeflor, and Cezario Escaran.
First runner-up B'69 include Melot Alimon, Geronca, Garcia, Romel Hortillosa, Carlo Boyero, Neonita Canieso, Edgar Alagaban, Boy Pama, Utay Pabon, Rene Bellera, and Janet Alimon.
Highest individual and team record holders were: I/single- Mayang Einosas of B'75 (180) and Stella Ongsinco of B'83 (150); I/triple- Art Palo of B'84 (417) and Ongsingco (386); pinning- Dennis Parcon of B'83 (95) and Tata Yanson (92); master bowlers - Alimon and Ongsingco; and T/single - B'85 (618) and T/triple- B'69 (1,669).
