NEWLY-SIGNED Fil-German midfielder Patrick Reichelt will start in March but until then the Ceres-La Salle Football Club will continue to go up in the standing of ongoing United Football League 2nd Division at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.
The Bacolod City-based squad, now with 10 points in five games, battles group’s No. 2 Agila FC (12 points) today at 4 p.m. with an eye for the top spot in the league’s second tier.
Ceres-LSFC came out triumphant against Manila All Japan, 2-nil following a 9-2 win over Dolphins for its fourth match.
Ceres-La Salle FC has now three wins, a loss, and a draw in five games.
“We still have 17 games left and it’s still a long way to go. The top two teams in the 2nd tier will go up to the league’s Division 1,” head coach Ali Bernard Go said.
The 2013 PFF-Smart Club National Championship defending titlist suffered a minor setback with a draw versus Air Force (1-1) and a surprise loss to Laos FC (1-nil).
“For me, it’s football. But it’s not an excuse. We have to work harder to be the best in this group. Our goal is to be promoted to Division 1 of the UFL,” Go said. (HGD)
