DEFENDING champion Ziggiotti gave notice that it has no plan to give up its title yet as it posted a 79-57 victory over Rua on Saturday in the 4th Don Bosco Technical Institute AAA basketball tournament at JGC gym at Goldenfields Commercial Complex.

Not to be outdone, two-time champion Monchiero stopped Ricaldone, 69-51 while Rinaldi crushed Bosco, 67-57 in close contests.

The biggest winner with a whooping 48-point difference is Braga which hacked and surprised Bragion, 99-51 in the opening game. Champ Celis led 4 other double-digit scorers with 21 points while Mickey Bernabe added 18.

Leif Baldonebro scattered 11 while Nino Zaragoza and Christian Diamante chipped in 10 each to negate the combined 23-point output of Bragion's Marko Monge and Carlo Bilbao.

Ziggiotti was held by Rua to a 34-all halftime score but JB Baylosis and Marc Penuela ignited a 25-8 spurt in the third canto. Boy Arquisola got his 20 points for Rua but Ziggioti put the finishing touches with a 20-15 last quarter surge.

Aldrich Apuang waxed hot with 29 and Dennis Villa shot 12 markers to carry Rinaldi's load for a 30-19 halftime lead. Argie Kim Arnaiz kept Bosco alive with 10 points to trail 40-43 in the third but Rinaldi finished with a 24-17 windup for its first victory.

Tom Villalobos topscored for Manchiero with 15 points enough to ward off JB Albay's 10 markers for Ricaldone which led 21-15 at half. Monchiero hammered a 30-12 demolition job in the third and sealed it with a 24-18 finishing kick.

DBTI-AAA games are held at the same venue every Saturday.
