WBO Inter-Continental super bantamweight champion Genesis “Azukal” Servania (24 wins, 10 KOs) will most likely challenge undefeated WBO super bantamweight and WBA super world super bantamweight champion Guillermo “El Chacal” Rigondeaux (13 wins, 8 KOs) of Cuba.

The 22-year-old Barangay Punta Taytay native said he is always ready to face 33-year-old Rigondeaux although there are no specific details of the fight yet.

“I’m always ready against him. I’ll prepare well if this fight materializes. I can’t take him lightly not only because he’s the champion, but he’s really good,” the Filipino undefeated champion added.

Servania came off with two impressive knockout victories against Alexander “El Explosivo” Muñoz of Venezuela and Mexican Rafael Concepcion. The Cuban champion also has a pair of wins via unanimous decision against Ghanian Joseph Agbeko and Nonito “Filipino Flash” Donaire of the Philippines.

The Bacolod fighter stopped former two-time WBA super flyweight world champion Muñoz in the last round of the Pinoy Pride XXIV held at the Solaire Resort and Casino.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old “King” Arthur Villanueva of Bago City, the reigning WBO international superflyweight champion, is also looking forward to a world title fight this coming July in Dubai.

Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella said Servania and Villanueva serve as role models for young and aspiring boxers who aim to follow the footsteps of Filipino boxing icon and Saranggani Rep. Manny Pacquiao.

“We will be staging the 2014 Monico Inter-Barangay Boxing Tournament this April known as the “Bacolod Golden Gloves” to provide an avenue for our aspiring boxers to show their skills,” Puentevella said.

“This early we are inviting those interested to visit the Bacolod Youth, Sports and Development Office,” he said.

Servania was one of the products of the “Bacolod Golden Gloves” in 2008.*
