Chief Insp. Noel Polines, head of BCPO Operations Branch, said the chairman of AFC told them to ensure the safety not only of the players but also of the spectators.
He added that before the games started, the Swat and K-9 dogs checked and cleared the playing venue.
Polines said out of 263 policemen, 43 were deployed to different billeting areas to secure the safety of the players and officials.
The 197 policemen were deployed inside the Panaad Park and Sports Stadium while others were assigned near the stadium.
He added that about 50 traffic enforcers were also deployed in different areas in Barangay Mansilingan to manage the traffic situation.
