Miracle-A A +A

IT WILL take a miracle for Tatung Company of Taipei to upset Rimyongsu of DPR Korea in the final match of the Asian Football Confederation President's Cup Group B Qualifier at Panaad Stadium.
The North Koreans have a pair of tied games, 2-all against Ceres-La Salle and 1-all against Turkmenistan, good for two points. The Taiwanese has zero after losing to the Turks and the host Philippine squad.
Chiang Kai Shek's followers cannot rely on "to whom God wish to destroy" as man can only propose but it is He who disposes. Unless the Koreans suddenly get sick and cannot get up despite gulping gallons of "hydrite" and mineral water, Tatung could only hope to at least minimize their score or force a draw.
The Koreans are quick to retaliate as evidenced in its last two games. They are swarming all over and their strikers attack relentlessly. Unlike match results which take the media a lot of minutes to wait, DPR Korea scores swiftly in seconds to the amazement of the crowd and its opponents.
Ri Hyok Chol blinded us all with his great speed and perfect hit after the Turks scored on a goalie's fumble. Coach Rowsen admitted in the post-game interview that his team relaxed after that goal by Suleyman Muhadov.
If Taipei wants to go home with a point, Tatung needs to draw. Needless to say, it will give Turkmenistan and Philippines the top two spots and the Koreans will not allow that.
And so Ceres-La Salle FC has to go all out for a win on their own. They have no time to wait and be anxious for the result of the next and final game.
How they do it and who will be the heroes (and the goats) that we do not know. Fans will not care what system the host team will use or what strategy and game plan was agreed upon.
All they need, hope and pray for is to win and go to the next level.
