THIRTY-TWO teams composed of top young cagers in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental will converge on May 16 at the West Negros University gym when the Talk ‘N Text-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) U18 “Tatluhan” Bacolod leg Championship reels off.

The three-day tournament will end on May 18 with the champion going to the national finals in Manila.

SBP-Negros Occidental chairman Tony Agustin said the staging of the event is part of SBP’s thrust to provide a highly-competitive tournament in the grassroots where aspiring basketball players can display their skills and be noticed by scouts from various schools and commercial teams in Metro Manila.

"This Fiba-endorsed tournament, which will have 20 legs nationwide, is open to any team of three players, plus one alternate, all aged under 18.
All regional winners will receive P10,000, trophies, and medals," Agustin added.

Aside from the prizes, the top team will get a chance to represent the country to the Fiba 3-on-3 for Asia-Pacific to be hosted by the Philippines on July 19 and 20.

Required of four-man team who will join the tournament is registration fee of P30 for Talk ‘N Text holders while non-holders will pay P50.

The tournament is supervised by Jake Azucena and Bobby Tee, while Agustin is the overall chairman.
