Bacolod United FC 'A' beats San Carlos for 38-Above title-A A +A

CERES-BACOLOD United FC Team A got a lone goal from Randy Jalbuena to help his team win over San Carlos FC in the 38-Above category of the 1st Ceres Cup 7-A-Side Football Tournament over the weekend at North Field in Talisay City.
Both squads, composed of former national players, were evenly matched and tied three-all in the elimination round.
Ceres-BUFC Team B settled for second runner-up while Oldskol of Dumaguete City finished third runner-up.
Jelzel Tonog of the champion Ceres BUFC-A was voted most valuable player as he displayed the skills he acquired for years, a bit slower, but still effective.
University of St. La Salle-B won the U-20 division with UNO-Recoletos finishing first runner-up. Kandingan FC and USLS-A settled second and third runner-up.
Carlo Pirute of USLS was named ‘MVP.’
In a final among Cebuanos, Don Bosco Cebu beat fellow Ateneo de Cebu to secure the U-16 category crown. Holy Cross of Dumaguete and SOS-FC of Zarraga, Iloilo took the second and third runner-up, respectively.
For U12, Don Bosco FC of Victorias City dominated Iloilo's Westbridge and Football Kings while Ateneo bested San Carlos FC in the U10 division.
Sitti FB-South Cotabato and Don Bosco – Cebu finished second and third runner-up, separately.
The festival, which gathered 306 teams from across the country, was designed in providing football enthusiasts the opportunity to foster and exhibit sportsmanship in a competitive, safe, and friendly environment.
“It also seeks to encourage and promote football development in Negros Occidental,” said Organizing Committee Vice-Chairman Nicolas Golez.
