TWO goals from Korean Jin Ho Kim and one each from three other teammates gave Bacolod's Ceres-La Salle FC a five-nil win over Manila Jeepney FC in the Division 2 of the ongoing United Football League played at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.

Transporter Kim stunned the Drivers with a first minute goal to set the tone for the worst to come to Manila Jeepney. Oladipo Okunaiya then doubled the score in the 16th minute.

San Carlos City midfielder Jayson Panhay joined the scoring frenzy after finding the back of the net in the 33rd minute. Kim added another three minutes after for a 4-0 advantage at the break.

German reinforcement Kevin Capolei scored the team’s final and fifth goal just before the final whistle in the anticlimactic second half.
Ceres now enjoys the No.1 position with 48 points on a 15-3-1 win-draw-loss card while the Manila Jeepney trails with 14 wins, a draw and 5 losses for 43 points.

Airforce FC stayed close at third place with 13 victories, a pair of draws, and five upsets for 41 points.

Nicolas Golez, Ceres club administrator, cannot hide his happiness on the team’s win against Manila Jeepney.

“The team worked hard for this result. We deserve to be No. 1 in the Second Division,” he said.

Ceres FC has three remaining matches left before the second elimination round concludes next week. (HGD)
