Dumdum laid to rest

FORMER national chess arbiter and West Negros University Sports Office consultant c was laid to rest Friday at the Rose Lawns Memorial Park in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

Dumdum, 61, passed away last May 23 after a cardiac arrest.

He is survived by his wife Myra and sons Kymie, Kimyr and Kim Jr.
The former chess official was best remembered by his colleagues in local sports circle as a dedicated worker, man of principles, a devoted worker particularly to his beloved sports, chess.

He was also considered by his contemporaries as a good mentor and associate – a big loss, not only to chess but, to the sports community.

Dumdum was once head of top chess tournaments such as the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association, Provincial Meet, Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association as well as National chess competitions. (HGD)
