Trading trounces Transportto win Fil-Sino cage tourney

AACI Trading dominated AACI Transport in the first three quarters to capture the championship via a 79-57 decision in the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. 1st Conference Inter-Company tournament played last Friday at the Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Robbie Jalando-on scored 11 points and Keith Banzon nailed two treys to give AACI a double digit margin in the opening quarter 26-12.

AACI Trading cooled down in the second quarter with 11 points, but AACI Transport could do no better as the deficit widened at the break 37-20.

Transport in an off night produced its best output in the first three quarters of 13 points with Romar Desusa leading the way with seven points for Transport.

But Trading continued to take advantage of the sputtering Transport’s offense as Danny Boy Uy and Jeremy Coo combined for 13 points for a commanding 59-33 advantage going to the fourth quarter.

The ailing Arnol Laureño spearheaded a rally by Transport with 12 inside points but Trading Jalando-on continue to shine with 12 points to seal the championship for Trading.

Jalando-on sizzled with 28 points, Luigi Coo added 10 points, Jeremy Coo scored eight points, Danny Boy Uy made seven points, and Andre Tan had five points.

Laureño propelled Transport with 17 points, Desusa made 10 points, Mark Binguan delivered nine points, and Nico Yap and Pao Pao contributed six points apiece. (With reports from Stephen Tan)
