Batang Pinoy Visayas reset to October 21-25

THE Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) informed local government units (LGU), including Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, last week of the new schedule for the 2014 Batang Pinoy.

Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella received information of the actual competition schedule.

The Mindanao Qualifying Leg will be hosted by Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur on September 10 to 14.

The Visayas Qualifying Leg in Kalibo, Aklan will be held on October 21 to 25 while the Luzon Qualifying Leg in Naga City is set on November 11 to 15. The National Finals will be held in Iloilo City on December 9 to 13.

This annual sports undertaking is pursuant to Executive Order No. 44, also known as the Philippine Youth Games- Batang Pinoy intended to discover the country’s best young athletes.

Batang Pinoy, being an integral part of the national policy and program for sports development, is designed to effectively address the need for a comprehensive grassroots sports program centered on value formation inherent in the practice of sports and play.

BP is an open tournament for children 15 years old and below or must be born in 1999 and the years onwards.
