TWO days from now, the 2nd Dynamic Football League Age-Group Tournament will kick off at Panaad Park and Sports Stadium in Bacolod City.
Under 13 defending champion University of St. La Salle-Integrated School is leading the contenders, with first runner-up Trinity Christian School hoping to make it to the top this time.
Joining the top two schools are University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Don Bosco Technical Institute, La Consolacion College-Gardenville, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School, A. Mabini Elementary School, Moises Padilla Elementary School; Estefania Elementary School, Sum-ag Elementary School, Cadiz West I Elementary School, Himamaylan Central School, Bata Elementary School, St. John's Institute, St. Scholastica's Academy, and Bago City Elementary School.
The Under 11 age-group contenders are USLS, TCS, SJI, Bata ES, UNO-R, DBTI, Moises Padilla Elementary School, and Montevista Elementary School.
Organized by Dynamic Football Club headed by benefactor Ricky Yanson, the tournament is aimed to establish a strong foundation for school-based grassroots football development program in Negros Occidental.
Tournament chairman Andrew Infante said the winning teams gets three points, one point for a draw, and zero for a loss.
Goal difference, greater number of goals scored, results of match between concerned teams (winner over the other), or kicks from the penalty mark if teams involved are still in the field of play, will resolve ties involving two or more teams.
Other issues not covered shall be dealt with accordingly by the tournament director or match commissioner. In the absence of any other rules, the 2010/2011 Fifa Rules and Disciplinary Code will apply. (HGD)
